I needed something simple to make for a busy night a week or two ago and I found this recipe in that free Kraft magazine that comes out every once in awhile (I think they changed it to a paid subscription but that’s another story). I wasn’t expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised ~ it was really good!
It’s super easy to put together and serve with a salad and bread and you’re good to go!
I would have preferred using square ravioli but I could only find round so that’s what I used. The ravioli is used frozen and mine came out perfectly heated through ~ no cold spots.
Baked Ravioli
1 (26 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce (use your favorite)
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
1/2 cup water
2 (1 pound) pkgs frozen cheese ravioli, you DO NOT have to thaw
1 (7 ounce) pkg Three Cheese Italian Blend shredded cheese
2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Heat oven to 400º.
Mix spaghetti sauce, tomatoes and water. Spoon about 1 cup into the bottom of a 13×9 baking pan.
Layer half the ravioli then 1 cup shredded cheese over sauce on the bottom. Then layer rest of sauce then rest of ravioli. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Cover with aluminum foil.
Bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 minutes more or until ravioli is heated through.
Sprinkle with Parmesan and let stand for 10 minutes; serve, cut into squares like lasagna.
Makes 8 servings.
Happy Cooking!
