I found this recipe on Pillsbury ‘s website and decided to give it a try. It was one of the most popular treats at the bridal shower. It’s not that spicy ~ more flavorful than spicy ~ and super easy to make. It would make a great addition to any party or buffet or even a quick lunch. I replaced the cilantro with parsley so you can use either. To precook the chicken, I used this recipe.
Chicken Jalapeno Rollups
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup cooked chicken, chopped
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
2 to 3 tbsps chopped sliced jalapenos (from a jar)
2 tbsps chopped green onions
1 can Pillsbury crescent rolls
Heat oven to 375º.
Mix all ingredients, except the dough, in a bowl until well blended.
Unroll the crescent dough and separate into 2 long rectangles on cutting board, pressing perforations to seal.
Spread half of cream cheese mixture on one rectangle to within 1/2 an inch of edge. Repeat on other rectangle of dough.
Starting with one long side, roll up rectangle and press seam to seal. Cut roll into 16 slices. Place slices on ungreased cookie sheet. Repeat with other dough rectangle.
Bake 14-16 minutes or until light golden brown. Remove from sheet immediately and serve warm.
Makes 32 appetizers
Happy Cooking!
